18 Things I'd Tell my 18-year-old Self
A useful tool for instruction is establishing an aesthetic connection between our students and a text-related theme. Many times I use my experiences, and, even my journal entries, to model creative writing, which in many cases is the perfect segue into improving academic writing. Writing a letter to my 18-year-old self was a pleasingly cathartic experience and a moment of gentle redirection.

Under contract, wrote the STAAR-based curriculum (both teacher and student manuals-a total of five manuals and five workbooks) for grades 7-11. The writing project included researching appropriate writings in the public domain, educational standard based on Texas educational and STAAR testing standards, writing the entire curriculum, create each manual to work in conjunction with one another. All teacher’s manuals are annotated for differentiation and submitting the completed work on strict deadlines.
